This clutch unit is composed of a lever side clutch part on the input side for controlling the transmission or cutoff of rotational torque to the output side by lever operation, and a brake side clutch part on the output side for transmitting input torque from the lever side clutch part to the output side and cutting off inverse input torque from the output side. The brake side clutch part includes a plurality of pairs of cylindrical rollers 27 arranged in a wedge gap 26 between a brake side outer ring 23 and an output shaft 22 and controlling the transmission of the input torque and the cutoff of the input torque by engagement or separation between the brake side outer ring 23 and the output shaft 22, and a cross-sectional N-shaped plate spring 28 interposed between the respective pairs of cylindrical rollers 27 and energizing separation force to the mutual these cylindrical rollers 27. The plate spring 28 includes an overturning preventive means for forming its both end parts as a bending part 28a bent outside.
