PURPOSE: To improve the thermal efficiency of a coal gasification plant and obtain a product gas with a high cleanness in a saved space, by leading a clean gas cleaned in a wet cleanup apparatus to a regeneration heat exchanger, and regenerating the clean gas therein.
CONSTITUTION: A gas produced in a coal gasification furnace 101 is passed through a product gas cooling apparatus 102, cooled to about 300W500°C temperature, passed through a regeneration heat exchanger 201, fed into a wet cleanup apparatus 103, cleaned with water or an aqueous alkali, etc. and cooled to about 50W100°C temperature. The resultant clean gas is then refed into the regeneration heat exchanger 201 and subjected to heat exchange with the product gas flowing from the product gas cooling apparatus 102, heated and then fed to a combustor 104.
