To reduce toxicity, to eliminate environmental problems, in particular problems or ozone holes and carcinogen, and to maintain excellent potential characteristics, image characteristics, coating and laminating property for a log time by incorporating a binder and an antioxidant into a dioxolane deriv. having a subst. or unsubstd. dioxolane ring.

This coating compsn. for an electrophotographic photoreceptor used is prepared by incorporating a binder and an antioxidant into a dioxolane deriv. having a substd. or unsubstd. dioxolane ring. The dioxolane deriv. having a substd. or unsubstd. dioxolane ring consists of a substd. or unsubstd. cyclic five-member cyclic ether compd. having two oxygen atoms not adjacent to each other in the molecule. As for the dioxolane deriv. to be used for this method, any dioxolane deriv. can be used as far as it has a dioxolane ring in the molecular structure, dissolves a binder and other additives used for a photoreceptor, and can be dried when a photoreceptor is produced. Usually the deriv. having ≤200°C b.p. is used.
