PURPOSE: To prevent a protective film forming liquid from passing around to the back face of a recording sheet by a method wherein annular grooves are provided on the peripheral surface near both ends of a presser roller and a resin solution is sucked into a vacuum passage within the roller.

CONSTITUTION: A plurality of annular grooves 4 adjacent to one another in the axial direction are provided on the peripheral surface of the presser roller 3. The grooves 4 are provided in plurality at least on the peripheral surface of the presser roller 3 near both ends of the roller 3. The presence of the grooves 4 prevent an interfacial phenomenon from occurring between the back face of the recording sheet 2 and the peripheral surface of the roller 3. The resin solution penetrating into the grooves 4 are automatically evacuated through the vacuum passage 5, that is, a central hole 5a connected with a vacuum source is connected to radial holes 5b at the bottom of the grooves 4 so as to suck the liquid by vacuum.
