Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effect the electrostatic coating of an inner surface a cylindrical article with synthetic resin powder, by spraying the powder from a coating head on the article supported by a member having a ring.

CONSTITUTION: The article 1, e.g. aluminum can or paper cup, is fed to the loading position A by the conveyor 2 and inserted into the cylinder 15 of the member 6. The member 6 and the support shaft 5 are then indexed and turned to the coating position B by the intermittent indexing drive unit. The protruded parts of the article 1 are then covered by the cover member 17, and the coating head 8 is lowered to spray charged synthetic resin powder on the inner surface of the article 1 electrostatically. The head 8 is then lifted to the original position to index and turn the article 1 to the next unloading position C. The article 1 is withdrawn by the take-out unit 11. The member 6 is then turned to the next cleaning position D, and cleaned.
