PURPOSE: To provide a vehicle composition which comprises a specific crosslinking agent, an acrylic polymer having a specific structure, etc., a radical initiator, a melamine resin and a blocked polyisocyanate, etc., at a specific ratio and is excellent in shelf stability, acid resistance, etc., and useful in multilayer coatings, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A desired composition comprises (A) 10-90 (wt.)% compound having at least average two or more alcoholytic groups as the crosslinking agent, (B) 10-90% polyester or the like having one or more α,β-unsaturated groups bonded through a carbonyl group of formula I, II or III, (C) 0.1-10% thermally and/or photochemically activable radical initiator (preferably, phosphine oxide), (D) a crosslinking agent of 0-20% melamine resin and 0-40% blocked polyisocyanate, (E) 0-40% OH-group-free, (meth)acryloyl-functionalized reactive thinner [e.g. lauryl (meth)acrylate] and (F) a diol, a triol, a polyol or the like.
