Abstract:
To provide a coating method and apparatus can prevent the generation of stripes and the generation of coating irregularities.
The coating apparatus 10 has a roughly columnar bar 14 disposed so as to come into contact with a traveling web 12 and a supply means for supplying coating liquid on the advancing side of the web 12 to the bar 14. On the surface of the bar 14, a helical groove 32 inclined to a plane orthogonal to the center axis L of the bar 14 for 20 degrees or more and 70 degrees or less, and a smooth part 34 where the web 12 comes into contact by the ratio of 20% or more are formed.
