PURPOSE: To enable a sealant to be automatically applied in a uniform thickness, by providing an application nozzle with a means for supplying a sealant and a robot operating the movement of the nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: In order to discharge a sealant from an applicator nozzle 2 in an amount which is in proportion to the traveling speed of the applicator nozzle 2, point A before point B where the traveling speed of the applicator nozzle 2 decreases greatly is set as a flow change point. When the applicator nozzle 2 reaches the point A, the speed of a flow-regulating pump 11 is decreased so that at the time when the applicator nozzle 2 passes the point B and decreases its traveling speed, the amount of the sealant being discharged can be decreased to a value in proportion to this decreased traveling speed. Further, point C before point E where the traveling speed of the applicator nozzle 2 increases is set at a flow change point, and the discharge amount is made to increase to a value in proportion to the increased traveling speed. Accordingly, the application can be performed in a uniform thickness.
