PURPOSE: To shorten coil winding work, by simultaneously compressing the outer surface of a coil element wire, which is wound around a winding core and the edge of the laminated body by means of a pair of compressing devices, shaping the wire, and saving hard manual labor.
CONSTITUTION: A side surface compressing roller 11a of a side surface compressing device 11, which is mounted on the free end part of a compressing arm 10 is contacted with the outermost surface of a coil element wire 4, which is wound around a winding core 3, with the position of the roller 11a being adjusted. The roller 11a is pushed in the direction of an arrow A by means of a driving device in a driving stage 8. The element wire 4 is shaped into a specified configuration. The roller 11a energizes a holding arm 20 in the direction of an arrow B in the same direction through a torque transmitting device 29 all the time. Therefore, a pair of guide rollers 12b of an edge pushing device 12 are compressed to the outer surface of the element wire 4. A roller 12a compresses the edge of the laminated body of the element wire 4 in the axial direction and shapes the wire in the specified configuration. Thus the hard manual labor is omitted, and the coil winding work can be shortened.
