PURPOSE: To prevent variance of the plate thickness and to improve the rolling yield at the time of shifting the roll during the roll working by limiting the roughness of the working roll in the axial direction referring to the roughness in the peripheral direction on the cold rolling mill, the working roll of which is shifted in the opposite direction.
CONSTITUTION: On the cold rolling mill, the working roll of which is shifted in the opposite direction, the roughness of the working roll in the axial direction is limited referring to the roughness in the peripheral direction and its ratio is set under the intrinsic limit value of each stand. In such a way, the difference of the rolling condition due to the difference between each friction coefficient of the usual rolling time and the roll shifting rolling time, that is, the variance of the plate thickness is prevented.
