Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove automatically and surely impurities in liquid Na for a Na cooled fast breeder by detecting the temp. of the liquid Na and that of a cold trap, and controlling the temp. of the cold trap in accordance with the difference.

CONSTITUTION: When liquid Na contg. impurities is fed to cold trap 1, the temp. is detected with detector 6. A plug temp. signal against the impurities is sent to function generator 9 to generate the desired cold trap inlet temp., and this temp. and the above Na temp. are sent to adding machine 10 to obtain the temp. deviation, which is then inputted in PID operator 12 through change-over contacts 11, 16. The result is sent to controller 13 to control the rotation frequency of blower 8. The temp. of trap 1 detected with detector 7 and the desired min. temp. of the trap are also sent to adding machine 15, and the deviation is inputted in operator 12. By controlling the rotation frequency of blower 8 in accordance with a change in concn. of impurities in the liquid Na, the temp. of the cold trap is controlled to thoroughly precipitation remove the impurities.
