To provide a collagen production promotor promoting the production of the collagen by a collagen-producing cell, and comprising a component originated from a plant mild to the body, and to provide a cosmetic, and an oral composition for promoting the collagen production.
The collagen production promotor contains piceatannol as an active ingredient for promoting the collagen production. The piceatannol is preferably originated from a natural product, and is more preferably originated from a plant. An extract of a seed of a passion fruit is preferably used because the seed of the passion fruit contains the piceatannol in high content. The invention is preferably usable for the cosmetic or the oral composition for promoting the production of the collagen.
