To provide a color conversion method, a color conversion apparatus and a color conversion program for restricting the total quantity of inks while keeping the continuity of gradations of colors.
In a first transform relation determining part, a transform relation is determined for transforming coordinates of a plurality of points on a predetermined color space into restricted coordinates wherein the total sum of coordinate components is restricted and in a second transform relation determining part, a transform relation is calculated by interpolation calculation or the like for transforming coordinates except for the coordinates of the plurality of points into restricted coordinates. A color that is significant in printing is converted into a desired color and the other colors are converted to be gradually changed from the significant color. Thus, the total quantity of inks can be restricted while keeping the continuity of gradations of colors.
