Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color display device for which electrical capillarity is utilized.
SOLUTION: An intermediate sheet 14 among three sheets 12, 14, 16 arranged in parallel apart spacings from each other has plural sets consisting of at least two liquid reservoir parts. First hermetic passages are formed by the spaces 13, 15 between this intermediate sheet 14 and the separate sheets 12, 16. The second hermetic passages are formed by the spaces 13, 15 between the intermediate sheet 14 and another sheets 12, 16. The respective sets of the liquid reservoir parts hold part of conductive transparent liquids and colored liquids and the remaining of the colored liquids exist within the second passages. Voltages are selectively supplied to the transparent liquids in the respective liquid reservoir parts of the sets of the respective liquid reservoir parts 22, by which the activated liquids of the sets of these liquid reservoir parts are admitted into the first passages and the colored liquid crystals are returned to the liquid reservoir parts 22. When the voltages are removed from the transparent liquids, the transparent liquids stop returning to the liquid reservoir parts 22 and the colored liquids return again to the second passages.
