Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color displayed element improved in light utilization efficiency, a method for driving the color display element and a display device equipped with the color display element.
SOLUTION: One pixel 50 comprises a sub-pixel 52 using a green color filter G and a sub-pixel 51 capable of making red and blue display by an electrically controlled birefringent mode (ECB mode) and the like. The display of green with smooth half-tone of high visibility is thereby made possible and the light utilization efficiency of red and blue of low visibility can be enhanced.
