Title:
COLOR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC COPYING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01282571
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent toner from scattering and to reproduce a flawless satisfactory color image by permitting a paper separating charger to destaticize a transferred toner image whenever a toner image is transferred onto an intermediate transfer medium from the surface of a photosensitive body.

CONSTITUTION: An intermediate transfer belt 19 is electrostatically charged to negative polarity by an intermediate transfer charger 22, and attracts and transfers a positive yellow toner image formed on a photosensitive belt 8 abutting on the outer periphery of a driving roller 10. When the transferred toner image in the 1st yellow color passes through the paper separating charger 24, its positive charges are destaticized to significantly reduce its potential. Said image is consecutively moved by rollers 20 and 21, electrostatically charged to negative polarity by the charger 22. A toner image in a 2nd magenta is attracted and transferred on the outer periphery of the driving roller 10. After the image moves further, it is destaticized by the charger 24. By the same procedure, a toner image in a 3rd cyan is superimposed, transferred, and destaticized. Reaction, which is caused by electric charges of the same polarity, disappears among three types of toner, and defects such as blur due to toner scattering can be improved to reproduce a high quality color image.
