To obtain color filters which may be produced at a low cost, is free from color mixing and color drop-outs at the time of executing the arrangement of colored parts and have excellent light resistance, solvent resistance and heat resistance by having a stage for applying ink contg. the acrylic copolymer, etc., selected from specific structural units on a substrate.
This process for production has a stage for applying the ink consisting of a thermosetting type resin compsn. contg. coloring agents, an acrylic copolymer contg. at least one kind selected from the structural unit expressed by formula I and the structural unit expressed by formula II and a cationic compd. on the substrate and a stage for obtaining the colored parts by curing the ink applied on the substrate by a heat treatment. In the formula, R1, R3 denote a hydrogen atom or methyl group; R2, R4, R5 denote a hydrogen atom or 1 to 5C alkyl group. As a result, the color filters which have the sufficient heat resistance, solvent resistance and definition and are free from the color mixing. color irregularity, color dropping during the production process and cracking are obtd. by the simple process.
