PURPOSE: To select a desired image and to copy it, by selecting the desired image by comparing images as they are and judging them, or selecting the desired image by displaying plural of picture quality adjusted images on a display.

CONSTITUTION: Gamma conversions are performed for the color image digital signals R, G and B from an image input part 1 in a gamma converison part 2, color corrections are performed for the signals in a color correction part 4 via a filter 3 and the signals are converted into YMG signals. Next, black printing signal processings 5 are performed for the signals, the gamma conversions are performed for a Bk signal and the y, m, c and Bk signals for which VCR processings are performed in a gamma conversion part 6, dither processings 7 are performed, a printer part 8 is driven, and a desired image is copied and outputted or is displayed on a display device. Thus, even a general user having no image processing knowledge can obtain the desired image by comparing and judging images as they are and selecting the desired image. By displaying plural of picture quality adjusted images on a display and selecting the desired image, the desired image can be obtained without spending the cost required for a hard copy.
