Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation in the adhesive strength between a transparent thin film and a substrate and the peeling of the transparent thin film and a substrate and the peeling of the transparent thin film from the substrate due to the infiltration of water, etc., by providing a resin covering the boundary between both. CONSTITUTION:The end faces of a color filter layer 8 and the substrate 9 having the transparent thin film 7 which is the smooth layer thereof are coated with the coating resin 16 consisting of an epoxy resin of a thermosetting type so at to cover the boundary with the transparent thin film 7. The boundary between the transparent thin film 7 and the substrate 9 is, therefore, protected by the coating resin 16. The degradation in the adhesive strength between both and the peeling of the transparent thin film 7 from the substrate 7 due to the infiltration of the external moisture, etc., are prevented in this way. The improvement in the yield and reliability of the color liquid crystal panel is made in this way.
