PURPOSE: To enable to obtain a time lag of printing signals without attendance of signal distorsions by a method wherein color signals recorded on a magnetic recording medium are read by a reading magnetic head, the signals thus read are demodulated by a demodulation circuit and used for driving an ink jet head.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of color printing, a printing color signal A actuates an ink jet head driving circuit 7, and the first primary color ink is jetted from an ink jet head 31. Simultaneously, printing color signals B and C are impressed on a modulation circuit 9 to modulate two different carrier frequencies, and they are applied to a recording magnetic head 5 and magnetically recorded on a magnetic recording medium 4. Accordingly, when a rotary drum 1 has rotated through a distance span (d) in the direction of arrow A, the reading magnetic head 61 actuates an ink jet head 32 to jet the second primary color ink; when the drum 1 has rotated through a further distance span (d), a reading magnetic head 62 actuates an ink jet head 33 to jet the third primary color ink. As a result, the three primary color inks are sequentially printed onto the same spot of recording paper 2.
