PURPOSE: To enable free selection of ground colors by providing a selection switch for determining whether one specific color should be converted to another to record in a recorder for color information on a color display.
CONSTITUTION: When a selector switch SW is turned ON information on three primary colors, namely red R, green G and blue B of a color CRT is all "0" for black and "1" for white. But black is recorded at "0" and white at "1" without inverting three primary color signals, namely cyan C, mazenta M and yellow Y for color recording through logic gates G1WG6. Other colors are recorded in the same color tone corresponding to C, M and Y without inverting any of R, G and B. Now when the switch SW is turned OFF, any of the three primary colors of the CRT is inverted. Therefore, to record information such as characters, the SW is turned ON to convert the ground color from black to white. To record the image, the SW is turned OFF and a recording can be done without switching the ground color. This enables free selection of the ground color according to purposes.
