PURPOSE: To reduce cross color by providing a filter limiting an oblique band with respect to a color signal extracted by horizontal and vertical band pass filters and attenuating a frequency component having a frequency component being possibly a leaked luminance signal from a color signal.
CONSTITUTION: A cross color elimination filter 6 consists of delay circuits 11-14 retarding the output of an adder circuit 39 by 1H, delay circuits 15-19 delaying outputs of the adder circuit 39 and the delay circuits 11-14 by sampling periods of 8T, 4T, 8T, 4T, 8T respectively, delay circuits 20-22 retarding outputs of the delay circuits 16-18 respectively by 8T, coefficient circuits 29-37 multiplying a prescribed multiple coefficient with outputs of the delay circuits 15, 16, 20, 12, 21, 17, 22,18, 19 and an adder circuit 40 adding outputs of coefficients 29-37. A color signal is extracted from an NTSC composite signal inputted from an input terminal 1 by a color signal extraction filter 3, the extracted frequency component is inputted to the filter 6 so as to eliminate the signal component having comparatively high horizontal and vertical frequencies to be leaked into the color signal.
