Abstract:
To provide colored aluminum pigment having various colors, good luster and high color intensity and producible by an extremely simple and technically inexpensive method using a harmless reagent.
The invention relates to an aluminum oxide or aluminum alloy pigment containing ≤90 wt.% metallic aluminum based on the total weight. The pigment is colored, has flake form and luster, and is resistant to aggregation and composed of a hydrated oxide layer. The invention further relates to the method for producing the pigment, the use of the pigment as an effect-imparting pigment and the use of the pigment as an organic or inorganic color pigment for post-coloring.
