PURPOSE: To improve the fine view of a product by providing a colored or colorless transparent synthetic resin layer on the vapor-deposited metallic film partially provided on the surface of a glass product.

CONSTITUTION: The UV paint or thermosetting synthetic resin paint wherein a dye is dissolved is applied on the whole or a part of the surface of a colorless transparent glass product 1, and dried to provide a colored transparent synthetic resin layer 2. A water-soluble ink layer is then provided thereon or on the glass surface to cover the part other than the part to be patterned with the ink. A metal is then vapor-deposited on the surface of the product 1, the product 1 is washed with water, and the water-soluble ink layer and the vapor-deposited film thereon are removed to pattern the product 1 with the remaining vapor- deposited film 3. A colored or colorless transparent UV paint or thermosetting synthetic resin paint is then applied on the film 3, and dried. The obtained product looks beautiful by the contrast between the shape of the metallic foil of the film 3 and the coloration around the foil.
