Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance water resistance and light resistance and impact resistance by forming a coat film composed essentially of a plastic lens substrate and a pigment and polyvinyl acetal. SOLUTION: The colored plastic lens comprises the plastic lens substrate and the coat film composed essentially of the pigment and the polyvinyl acetal formed on the substrate. The pigment to the dispersed into a primer layer is, preferably, finely pulverized in order not to impair the transparency of the lens. The primer layer to be used is composed essentially of the polyvinyl acetal high in the dispersibility of the pigment and impact resistance. This acetal resin is embodied by a polyvinyl butyral having an alkyl carbon number of 3.
