Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a colorless and transparent polyimide excellent in thermal stability by reacting a specified fluorine-containing tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride with 4,4'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)diphenyl and an aromatic monoamine.

CONSTITUTION: With 1mol 2,2-bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane dianhydride as a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride represented byformula I, 0.9 to 1.0mol diamine compound [e.g. 4,4'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)diphenylsulfone] represented by formula II [X is SO2, C(CH3)2 or C(CF3)2] and 0.001 to 1.0mol aromatic monoamine expressed by the formula Z-NH2 (Z is a 6 to 15Cmonocyclic aromatic group, a condensed polycyclic aromatic group, etc.) are reacted. Thereby, the objective colorless and transparent polyimide having abasic skeleton composed of a repeating structural unit of formula III, blockedwith the compound of Z-NH2 and excellent in thermal stability can be produced.
