PURPOSE: To improve workability in the connection of a column to a column.
CONSTITUTION: Upper and lower section connecting plates 13, 14 are arranged around upper and lower section columns 11, 12 to be connected. These upper and lower section connecting plates 13, 14 are composed of upper and lower section guide members 16, 17 formed in a plan-view U-shape and upper and lower section clamping pieces 18, 19 connected at both ends of these upper and lower section guide members 16, 17. Support members 15 supporting these upper and lower section connecting plates 13, 14 are disposed along the direction of connection of the upper and lower section columns 11, 12. Accordingly, since the upper and lower section clamping pieces of the upper and lower section connecting plates can be removed, a column fixing device can be converted, fixing sections and erection pieces need not be mounted at every column, cost is reduced, operation such as cutting is omitted, and workability on the connection of a column and a column can be improved.
