Abstract:
PURPOSE: To apply a liquid to selected regions of hair by combining a brush and a comb, providing vertical grooves on the shaft of comb teeth, holding a treatment liquid, and replenishing brush tufts with the treatment liquid. CONSTITUTION: This combined brush and comb 10 contains a handle portion 11 and a head portion 12. Grooves 19a-19e are provided on a virtual face perpendicular to the virtual shaft 21 of comb teeth 17c to face inward from the surface 20 of the comb teeth 17c. Each comb tooth has a groove on at least one continuous face. The comb teeth 17a, 17c exist closely near to brush tufts 18a, 18b, respectively, storage tanks 21a, 21b are formed between the comb teeth 17a, 17c and brush tufts 18a, 18b, a hair treatment liquid is held there, and the liquid holding capability of the brush/comb 10 is increased. Some of the treatment liquid is held in the brush tufts 18a, 18b in use, and the additional liquid is held in the grooves 19a-19e of the comb teeth, i.e., between the brush tufts 18a, 18b and the adjacent comb teeth 17a, 17c. As the hair is treated, the liquid held in the grooves 19a-19e of the comb teeth 17a, 17c is refilled into the brush tufts 18a, 18b.
