Title:
Combustion chamber structure of a direct-injection engine
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6260523
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the increase of a cooling loss due to a squish flow.SOLUTION: A cylinder head 13 has a ceiling portion 170 including an intake air side inclined surface 171 and an exhaust side inclined surface 172 coupled by a trough portion 173. A piston 16 has a top surface 160 including an intake air side inclined surface 161 and an exhaust side inclined surface 162 opposing to the intake air side inclined surface 171 and the exhaust side inclined surface 172 of the ceiling portion 170 which are coupled by a ridge portion 163. On the top surface 160 of a piston 16, a cavity 164 is formed over the intake air side inclined surface 161 and the exhaust side inclined surface 162 across the ridge portion 163. A squish area 175 is formed between the top surface 160 of the piston 16 and the ceiling portion 170 of the cylinder head 13. In the squish area 175, a gap G1 between the trough portion 173 of the cylinder head 13 and the ridge portion 163 of the piston 16, is wider than a gap G2 between the exhaust side inclined surface 172 of the cylinder head 13 and the exhaust side inclined surface 162 of the piston 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
