Title:
COMBUSTOR FOR EMERGENCY POWER UNIT AND MIXER THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2964063
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a highly reliable, compact and lightweight combustor which can produce emergency power through harmless and clean combustion while facilitating maintenance.
CONSTITUTION: Air from a high pressure air tank is mixed with high temperature air from a partial exhaust heat exchanger and introduced to the air inlet 225 of a combustor 26 with the temperature, pressure and flow rate being controlled thence introduced through an outer plenum 233, an inner plenum 235 and an air swirler 239 to a combustion chamber 251. Fuel is supplied from an aviation fuel JP.4 tank to the injector 227 of the combustor while being controlled through a flow control valve and ejected into the combustion chamber 251. It is mixed with the swirled air and ignited by an igniter to start combustion. Combustion gas flows into a nozzle box 261 thence collides against a turbine from a nozzle 263. Conduction of heat from the combustion chamber 251 to the outside is prevented by means of a heat liner 253 and a heat insulating ceramic material 255.
