PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a common mode current detecting element for easily detecting a common mode current to be generated in a differential transmission line and displaying the size of the detected current, and a common mode noise reducing circuit capable of reducing the generation of the common mode current by using this element.
SOLUTION: The element includes a common mode current detecting means for detecting the common mode current flowing through the differential transmission line, and a differential driver means for sending a differential signal to the differential transmission line. The common mode current detecting means consists of a magnetic flux detecting unit for detecting at least the magnetic flux due to the common mode current flowing through the differential transmission line, a current extracting unit for extracting the common mode current by a conductor wire wound around the magnetic flux detecting unit, and a light emitting unit emitting a light by the current extracted by the current extracting unit. In this element, the waveform of a differential signal to be output from the differential driver means is corrected while confirming the light emitting strength of the light emitting unit so that the common mode current may become the minimum, thereby reducing the generation of common mode noise.
