This equipment is provided with an empty capacity detecting part 11 for sending a response message from a response message sending part 7 corresponding to a call incoming at the time of an automatic recording mode, for compressing a message sent from an opposite side through a communication line 1 and storing that message in a memory 8 for message recording and for detecting the empty capacity of the memory 8 for message recording; a recording available time calculating part 12 for calculating the recording available time of the message based on the empty capacity detected by this detecting part 11; a voice converting part 6 for converting the recording available time calculated by the above calculating part 12 to an audio signal; and a control part 10 for sending the audio signal converted by this voice converting part 6 to the communication line 1 together with the response message.
