Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the hindrance to communication due to congestion of a network by executing data transmission with one data transmission means in the case that data transmission of the other transmission means cannot be executed.
CONSTITUTION: A data terminal equipment discriminates the cause of disconnection of a communication channel when receiving a CI (disconnection indication) packet or an SI (restart indication) packet; and if this cause is congestion, the equipment interrupts data transfer and opens the set connection for data transfer and executes a prescribed originating and terminating operation to the same destination by the bearer service in the frame mode. In this case, two data terminal equipments 11 communicating with each other are connected to a frame relay handier 14 through exchanges 12 in an ISDN network. A logical channel between data terminal equipments 11 is formed by the frame relay function of the frame relay handier 14, and a new connection for data transfer is set. Then, the data terminal equipment 11 restarts data transfer by this connection.
