PURPOSE: To provide a fluorescent lamp device having parts used in common.
CONSTITUTION: One end of a synthetic resin mount 1 is fitted with a compact light emitting tube 2, the so-called T4 tube of independent inductive ballast type usable under supply voltage between 220 and 240V. The tube 2 has two parallel U-shaped glass tubes 2a and 2a connected to each other at one base end via a joint section 2b for the internal communication thereof to form an approximately saddle type light emitting route. Four connector pins 3 are arranged at one end of the mount 1 and error connection preventing projections 4 and an error connection preventing recess 5 are formed on the mount 1 for preventing erroneous connection to a receptacle for supply voltage of 100V, thereby forming a base 6 of four-terminal structure unsuitable for a 100V receptacle. A lighting circuit 21 applies the supply voltage of 100V to the tube 2 as 220 to 240V, thereby enabling the tube 2 for 220V to 240V to be used at 100V in common. As a result, parts can be used for multiple purposes and the cost can be reduced.
