PURPOSE: To minimize confusion in the read operation of a medium by offsetting at least a part of a magnetic field induced by a sense current.
CONSTITUTION: A specific sensor and bias current I0 are supplied through a line 43 by a read/write circuit element 11, and divided between the two magnetic reluctance sensors 23, 25, generating current I1, I1. The current I1 is inputted in the bottom magnetic reluctance sensor 23 by a bottom conductor 63 and outputted from the sensor 23 by a bottom conductor 65. A part of the sensor 23 where the current I2 flows is formed by the gap of 4μm between the bottom conductors 63, 65, with the current I2 similarly flowing through the upper conductors 73, 75. A voltage in a node 45 is controlled through a voltage drop caused by the current flowing the 4μm part of the sensors 23, 25, with the resistance of the sensors 23, 25 influenced by the adjacent magnetic field of a passing medium 15; therefore, the voltage in the node 45 is modulated, with the sensors 23, 25 biased in the reverse direction; accordingly, the modulation is complementary such that it is detected in the read/write circuit element and decrypted.
