PURPOSE: To simplify a whole sensor unit, to improve its reliability and to save a substrate material by disposing a sensor, a TFT unit and an electrode for its connection on a substrate.
CONSTITUTION: Connecting electrode terminals 4 for connecting a sensor section 2 and a TFT unit 3 of a completely sealed type sensor formed integrally with the sensor section and the TFT unit for its drive circuit on a transparent insulating substrate, to other electric circuit, are provided at the longitudinal both ends of a substrate 1. Thus, the length of a sensor unit S in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction can be reduced to (a), and the size of the whole sensor unit can be largely reduced. Or, a load due to a paper retainer from its top at a connector can be alleviated.
