Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely discriminate the complete explosion even in the case where a crankshaft is rotated at a high speed by judging the complete explosion of an internal combustion engine when a time difference between a first interval measured time and a following interval measured time among intervals of the generation of crank pulse exceeds the first predetermined time.
SOLUTION: After starting an engine, a discrimination whether the first time flag FFIRST is 0 or not is done (S1), and in the case where the first flag FFIRST is 0, a variable (n) is set at 1 (S2) so as to set the first flag FFISRT at 1 (S3). Count of a counter to be reset by the crank pulse and for counting the clock pulse is expressed as a time Tn so as to be read for holding. Discrimination whether the variable (n) is an odd or not is done (S6), and in the case of NO, a difference ΔT=Tn-Tn-1 between the former (odd number) time Tn-1 and this (even number) time Tn is computed (S7), and in the case where an absolute value &verbar ΔT&verbar exceeds the predetermined time Tr1, complete explosion of the engine is judged. Furthermore, complete explosion of the engine can be discriminated by obtaining a total time by integrating the time difference (S8), and discriminating whether an absolute value of the total time exceeds the predetermined time or not (S9).
