PURPOSE: To prevent a tape from vibrating by itself and enable a high speed feed of a component by a method wherein a component is kept sucked by the use of a vacuum from the rear of the plane to which a cover tape is provided while the cover tape is separated and fed.
CONSTITUTION: A component 11 is taken out from a belt-like component feed position 13 by means of a sucking nozzle 18, where the component feed position 13 is composed of a base tape 9 to which recesses 10 that contain components 11 are provided at a constant pitch and a cover tape 12 which is provided as covering the recesses 10. In this operation, a hole 16 provided to a body 15 is connected to a sucking means. While the tape is separated off and the component 11 is conveyed to the component feed position 13, the component 11 is held through the intermediary of the hole 17 provided to the base of the recess 10 of the tape 9 and the tape 9 itself is held being sucked against the body 15. By these processes, the tape 9 is prevented from vibrating by itself and the component 11 can be stably fed at high speed.
