Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component for high-frequency technology or for the microwave range and millimeter wave range of the electromagnetic spectrum, and to provide the production and the use of the components.SOLUTION: There are provided the component contains a liquid crystal compound represented by the formula I, or a liquid crystal medium which in turn contains one or two or more kinds of compounds represented by the formula I, and the corresponding novel liquid crystal media, the use and the production thereof, and the production and the use of the components. The components are suitable in particular as phase shifters in the microwave range and in the millimeter wave range, for microwave and millimeter wave array antennas, and especially for so-called adaptable "reflect arrays". In the formula I, R11 to R13 each represent a C1-15 non-fluorinated alkyl or a non-fluorinated alkoxy, a C2-15 non-fluorinated alkenyl or the like.SELECTED DRAWING: None
