PURPOSE: To improve the strength and durability of a composite ceramic structural material containing high-melting metal wires embedded in a ceramic used as a matrix phase by dispersing specific ceramic particles in the ceramic structure.
CONSTITUTION: This composite ceramic structural material is produced by dispersing ceramic particles 12 (e.g. alumina particles) in a composite ceramic structure 100 produced by embedding high-melting metal wires 11 (e.g. tungsten wire) or high-melting metal particles in a ceramic 10 (e.g. reaction sintered silicon nitride), preferably a reaction sintered ceramic material used as a matrix phase. The thermal expansion coefficient of the ceramic particle 12 is larger than that of the metallic wire 11 or metallic particles in the structure 100.
