Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a composite material, containing an N-alkyl substituted maleimide-olefin-based copolymer and a phyllosilicate and excellent in transparency, heat resistance, rigidity and dimensional stability by uniformly and finely dispersing the phyllosilicate in a matrix of the copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: This composite material comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. N-alkyl substituted maleimide-olefin-based copolymer, containing 40-60mol% constituent component of formula I (R1 is a 1-18C alkyl or a 3-12C alkyl) and 60-40mol% constituent component of formula II (R2 is H or a 1-8C alkyl; R3 and R4 are each a 1-8C alkyl) and having 1×103 to 5×106 weight-average molecular weight and (B) 0.1-100 pts.wt. phyllosilicate. The component (B) is uniformly and finely dispersed in a matrix of the component (A).
