Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a composite member with improved mechanical properties over a conventional composite member.

CONSTITUTION: This is a composite member 10 consisting of flat sheets 12 placed at facing positions each other and ribs 16 extended between them and uses a fiber reinforced glass base material or a glass/ceramic composite base material. Fibers in the ribs are constituted so as to be entangled with fibers in the flat sheets, thereby a high shear strength is obtained.
