PURPOSE: To improve thermal insulation properties and reliability with a double- layered glass panel spread with a resin film via a spacer so as to divide internal air by using the spacer of which the ratio between the coefft. of thermal expansion and the modulus of elasticity is a specific value or below.
CONSTITUTION: A plastic film 3 is held and spread by means of a spacer 2 in double-layered glass so as to divide the internal air layer in parallel with the glass 1 to constituted a double-layered glass panel. The intended thermal insulating double-layered glass panel is manufactured by using the spacer consisting of the material of which the coefft. of thermal expansion and the modulus of elasticity is the numerical value expressed by the equation or below. The preferable material of the spacer is exemplified by iron and the alloy thereof (e.g.; stainless steel). The breakage of the glass, etc. arise less with the resulted double- layered glass panel even if said panel is subjected repeatedly to a heat cycle from -40°C to +70°C and a high temp. difference of -40°C on one side and 70°C on the other side.
