Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a mascara composition capable of lengthening the eyelash and drawing a beautiful curved line by including a wax and a pseudolatex containing a film-forming polymer particle having carboxylic acid functional group. CONSTITUTION: This makeup cosmetic composition contains 0.8-20 wt.% of a pseudolatex composed of a film-forming polymer particle containing carboxylic acid functional group and having an average diameter of 10-300 nm and 2-40 wt.% of a wax having a melting point of 60-110 deg.C. The pseudolatex contains polymers selected from the following components, i.e., (i) a vinyl acetate/ polyoxyethylene crotonic acid copolymer, (ii) a polymer of the formula (R, R' and R" are each H or methyl; (m), (n) and (t) are each 1-2; R1 is a 2-21C alkyl; R2 is H, methyl, ethyl, etc.; R3 is H, a 1-4C alkyl, etc.; Z is CH2 , etc.; (v) is 10-91 wt.%; (w) is 3-20 wt.%, (x) is 4-60 wt.%; (y) is 0-40 wt.%; etc.), (iii) a vinyl acetate/crotonic acid copolymer and (iv) a vinyl acetate/crotonic acid/vinyl neodecanoate terpolymer.
