Abstract:
To provide a composition and method for identifying a molecule of a potent inhibitor on axon regeneration in myelin, and blocking or operating a MAG active level in the neural system to treat a patient having injuries to a neural system which is an inherent problem of neural regeneration.
The composition comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and at least one MAG inhibitor in an amount effective for treatment, wherein the MAG inhibitor contains an oligosaccharide (sugar) having a small sialic acid which is a competitive inhibitor of a sialidase if necessary, in one preferable embodiment.
