PURPOSE: To decrease changes with time and to obtain good storage property by applying a compsn. for optical recording comprising an org. polyisocyanate, specified polyurethane resin, and absorbent for light on a substrate to form a recording layer.
CONSTITUTION: The compsn. for ooptical recording consists of an org. polyisocyanate, polyurethane resin and absorbent for light. The polyurethane resin is derived from an active hydrogen component comprising one or more kinds of polyols expressed by formula I or II and having one or more kinds of groups expressed by formula III or IV produced from polyols by at least 20wt.%. The compsn. is applied on a substrate 1 to form a recording layer 2. When information is recorded in the layer 2, recording pits 3 are formed. In formulae I, II, A3 represents formulae V-VII. R1, R2 are hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups of 1-3 carbon number, m, n are integers satisfying 2≤m+n≤4, (p) and (q) are 0 or integers satisfying 0≤p+q≤2, and X is a hydrogen atom or methyl group.
