To provide a composition for an oral cavity suppressed in acidity and bitterness and having a favorable off-taste and mild refreshing feeling while containing a specific amount of potassium nitrate, a component providing an oil flavor of a surfactant and/or a fatty acid divalent metal salt, and menthol.
The composition for an oral cavity contains the following components: (A) 4-8 mass% of the potassium nitrate; (B) the surfactant and/or the fatty acid divalent metal salt derived from a 12-18C saturated fatty acid; (C) 0.002-0.2 mass% of an anethole; (D) 0.003-1.0 mass% of menthol; (E) 0.00002-0.5 mass% of a citrus fragrance selected from citral, limonene, and citronellal; and (F) 0.00001-0.00055 mass% of a 4-14C lactone, wherein the component (C) and the mass ratio (C+E)/F of the component (C) and the component (E) to the component (F) is 150-1,500.
