The compressed audio reproduction device for reproducing the compressed audio file, calculates a conversion basic data stream position which is a product value of an average basic data stream size and each basic data stream number of the basic data stream, with the average basic data stream size expressing an average value of a size for each basic data stream, including at least one frame which is recorded in the compressed audio file to be reproduced. On the basis of a basic data stream position differential data, expressing the difference of the conversion basic data stream position stored in a basic data stream position storage means and a basic data stream position, the compressed audio reproducing device calculates the basic data stream position where reproduction is started.
