Title:
Compression ignition type internal-combustion engine
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP5920262
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression ignition type internal combustion engine capable of improving uniformity of an air utilization rate by considering the shape of a squish portion.SOLUTION: A bottom wall surface 311 has the pent-roof shape, and a bottom wall surface 712 has the shape raised to be matched to the pent-roof shape. A cavity 71 is formed so that cross-sectional shapes F are same respectively between half sections M. A piston 7 includes a tapered wall surface TP on a squish portion S. The tapered wall surface TP is determined so that an angle θ formed with the bottom wall surface 311 on the half section M is uniform over the whole circumference. A distance between a lower end portion TPB and the bottom wall surface 311 on the half section M, that is, a distance (a) along the direction orthogonal to the bottom wall surface 311 is uniform over the whole circumference.
