Abstract:

To enable a user to change equipment and continuously use the same application without incorporating a mechanism for saving and restoration of a proceeding in the application, without transferring the application and the proceeding at the time of migration by an external media.

In computer equipment 10, a logical partition 2a including a guest OS 4a, and the application 5a, and an input/output system (a logical partition) 3a including the guest OS 4a, a transfer manager 8a, and a device driver 6a are generated. In the computer equipment 20, a user instructs the computer equipment 10 to transfer in a state that an input/output system (a logical partition) 3b including a guest OS 4b, a transfer manager 8b, and a device driver 6b is generated. Thereby, the logical partition 2a on the computer equipment 10 can be transferred on the computer equipment 20 as the logical partition 2b.
